Samsonite Sammies Dreams Video Ad

Jesse Shwayder founded Samsonite® in 1910 in Denver. From Shwayder's 1910 dream of "Samson"-strong trunks to a global leader in travel gear, Samsonite's journey spans over a century of innovation, adapting from wooden giants to lightweight wheels and now, even smart luggage.

Enquiry
Following their inquiry, we met with the client to understand their goals for promoting their latest children's luggage line, Sammie's Dreams. The adorable concept of a cuddly luggage companion resonated with us, and the client's desire for a fun, non-salesy video allowed us to get creative.

Concept

We are collaborating with influencer Debbie Goh, who provided valuable insights into her son's preferences, so that we developed a concept that is achievable, realistic, and also able to capture the imagination of young viewers.

The video features Danton, Debbie's son, on a whimsical journey of discovery as he transforms into a dinosaur upon touching his Sammie's Dreams luggage.

Dealing with kid

Of course, sometimes Danton is a little out of control during the shoot. However, his mother manages to calm him down and guide him by using snacks, which helps a lot. Sometimes, sharing snacks with children during the shoot is necessary. Shooting with children isn't that hard; it just involves trying to understand them so that they can cooperate and have a better attention span. It's important to seize the golden opportunity to shoot as well, because once it's over, it's over, especially younger children.

As last, the client is satisfied with the video because this playful back-and-forth between reality and fantasy effectively captured the brand's message without resorting to hard-sell tactics.
